Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has become an extremely controversial public figure, is making more money than anyone else in the entire government, and if he were to retire before 2022, his current retirement package would be about $350,000 per year. According to Forbes, who gathered and released the data, this will be the biggest retirement package ever earned by a government employee to date.

Despite the fact that he could be living a life of luxury and ease, the 81 year old doctor still has not made any public announcements about retiring. While continuing to work may increase his eventual retirement package even more, even if he retired tomorrow his yearly package would continually increase anyway, due to the ever inflating cost of living.

Fauci has become a deeply admired figure among the Democratic Party due to his role in combatting the Coronavirus, but he has been working to prevent disease for much longer than the pandemic, and this year he reached 55 years in government work. The government is not an easy place to work, however, and that respect from progressives comes with the opposite treatment from GOP politicians.

Those who do support the medical expert are constantly cheering him on, and MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace even called herself a “Fauci groupie”. The reason for this Fauci loyalty is of course his key role that still continues today in encouraging Americans to mask up and get vaccinated, which many people believe have been the two most important steps in limiting the spread of the deadly virus.

2020 was Fauci’s second year in a row of being the highest paid government employee, with his salary increasing about $15,000 to reach a whopping $434,312. This means he even outranks current president Joe Biden, who earns $400,000 annually. Fauci’s 2021 salary has not yet been released to the public, but Forbes has filed to obtain that information, and it would be a safe bet to guess that the doctor’s salary has continued to increase as he stays relevant in fighting the pandemic.
