The right has an issue with education, as we all know. The more education one receives, the more one tends to drift to the left. Perhaps not all the way left or to the progressive left, but most PhDs are not MAGAs, we can leave it at that.

So education is already an issue. Elite education makes it that much worse. The Ivy League, the University of California schools, Virginia, Michigan, Vanderbilt, Rice, they’re all held with contempt. But it’s never worse than when an elite education is paired with a minority, especially a Black American.

Race doesn’t matter in the slightest in any area, but it matters somewhat more when it comes to education solely because – as said above – they already don’t like education. So, putting race into the equation just squares the problem. They will make exceptions for Kayleigh because, well, quite obviously she made it through the experience and bless her for it. They think.

We will even allow for the fact that it’s possible, for whatever reason, for people to dislike Joy Reid and Michelle Obama. We are not saying it’s justified, only that it’s possible. It is impossible to say that they are not obviously brilliant. To say otherwise is ridiculous. If this site can easily admit that Amy Coney-Barrett has a terrifyingly powerful mind, then it shouldn’t be hard for any MAGA to say the same about Joy Reid or Michelle Obama.

Except it is hard and we damned well know why. We know exactly why. And here is convicted felon, pardoned – like all Trump’s friends – coming up with a strange sort of comparison:
