It was only one week ago that someone dropped a great article at this site stating that Merrick Garland had to go. While it is true that the FBI and DOJ don’t do press conferences on the latest developments in their investigations (in any matter), we do hear things like “Rudy’s electronic equipment got seized) and other tips that something is up. We haven’t heard anything’s “up” with respect to the FBI regarding any Trump White House administrator, nor much about any of the money and real organization behind January 6th. It is depressing.

Having reported such, it is incumbent upon us to report some fantastic news that busted out rather late Friday. The House Select Committee continues to move apace. This site already has one article up today regarding Adam Schiff’s statement about the committee and its mission, but there is another quote, one at least equally as important, regarding the committee’s work.

Yesterday, Liz Cheney said:

“We’ve had, actually, over 150 interviews with a whole range of people connected to the events, connected to understanding what happens, so that just gives you a sense. It is a range of engagements — some formal interviews, some depositions … There really is a huge amount of work underway that is leading to real progress for us.”

— Vice Chair Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) told POLITICO.

One hundred and fifty witnesses? This committee began its work well after we went through the entire “bipartisan joint…” stuff in late spring and summer. The sheer number is almost stupifying. She also said that many of the witnesses remained anonymous… consider which witnesses would be those who most want to remain anonymous. Politico also adds;

Should Kamala Harris Run for President in 2028?

This new number is an indication that the vast majority of the committee’s work is happening out of public view. Though the panel has announced a flurry of subpoenas against former top aides to President Donald Trump and organizers of a rally that preceded the Jan. 6 insurrection, little is known about the voluntary interviews that have been conducted so far.

The “little is known” obviously applies to us, the public because Cheney also said we only know the tip of the iceberg. That would indicate that the committee actually knows quite a bit.

Now consider Donald Trump, sitting wherever he sits, fighting hard to keep his documents and a couple of witnesses protected, reading that the committee has already spoken to 150 witnesses and he cannot know who they might be.

By all appearances, he is desperate to keep all things post-election and associated with January 6th secret. Now, he reads, the committee has heard testimony from 150 people, information that is kept secret, he doesn’t know what they do know.

Now that is one Trump nightmare.
