First of all, do not go on Nicolle Wallace’s show in any sort of adversarial position because you will lose, every bit as surely as you will lose if you go on Rachel Maddow’s show to spar on facts and reality. (Which is likely why the rumors are that Wallace is first in line to replace Maddow should Rachel retire next spring as is rumored.) In fact, it’s probably a good idea to never take on anyone named “Nicole” in an adversarial position.

Chris Christie went on Nicolle Wallace’s show and – to give him some credit – he did not go on as a Trumper, though he’s sort of helped Trump out a bit over the years. Christie went on purportedly as the guy who could save the Republican party, from itself, we presume.

Christie also went on Wallace’s show to make money, to promote his book “Republican Rescue” which sounds about as valuable as a book named “How to use the hide of animals found alongside the road,” even though that is sort of gross, so are Republicans. Christie would do much better promoting some newsletter named Much Ado… never mind. The point is that there is no party left to rescue.

Nicolle was driving this point home to Christie by explaining to him that the Republican party had near nothing to offer except lies and conspiracy theories. She began to explain this to Christie when… It happened, the transcript is in the quote, the reaction is in the video:

Wow, see, something like that would have easily gotten by 95% of television hosts (and many writers). To be fair, television hosts have a far more difficult job, having to catch things in the moment. Most wouldn’t have caught that little line at all.

Should Kamala Harris Run for President in 2028?

But Nicolle did and that is why one should never, ever, go onto Nicolle’s show except to analyze a specific issue as an expert and not to spar with her from an adversarial political position.
