Since the end of Donald Trump’s presidency, Melania Trump has been obscure as a public figure. In fact, she has stayed out of public places almost completely, keeping a low profile with her son Barron Trump. Despite the very real possibility of her husband once again campaigning for his old office in 2024, sources say that for Melania being a First Lady again is “not what she wants.”
Another insider also said about Melania: “You’re not going to see her at rallies or campaign events.” According to those close to the family, it seems like her attempts to keep out of the spotlight are no accident. Up until recently, she only had one notable public appearance in New York City in the summer of 2021.
The past couple months have begun to show a change in Melania’s behavior. She has appeared at several events, from sporting events to a republican LGBTQ convention. Not just that, but reports of her and her husband at the MLB game between the Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros say that she happily participated in the “tomahawk chop”.

These public appearances are raising questions about whether or not Melania Trump has changed her mind about supporting another presidential campaign for her husband. After such an extended period of time, her step back into a minor political role as well as a social role alongside her husband seems to suggest she has.
.@LogCabinGOP awarded First Lady @MELANIATRUMP the Spirit of Lincoln Award for her gallant & passionate support of LGBT Conservatives. Melania continues to champion for more inclusion in the @GOP since leaving the White House. Melania’s support is historic & we thank her! 🇺🇸🏳️🌈 pic.twitter.com/EXhPFKnTRk

While it’s never safe to make assumptions, this new behavior from Melania will spark conversation around Donald Trump’s potential campaign. It seems unlikely that she would be forcing herself back into that old role without any reason. While she was never very involved politically when Donald Trump was president, her participation would be a vital aspect to his campaign in terms of his family narrative.
Over the years, the @LogCabinGOP & @RichardGrenell have been pivotal in uniting people & taking a stand against bullies and labels. Thank you for honoring my work w the Spirit of Lincoln Award. It was an honor to join you to celebrate your accomplishments! pic.twitter.com/eAFIJFjlBJ
