Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene, the QAnon-spouting, rioter-embracing Trumpist who can’t stay out of the news, seems to have created a little news all on her own.
Earlier in November, Greene tweeted about a missing sign from her office: A “Let’s Go Brandon” sign representative of the coded phrase that other Republicans use to mean “F**k Joe Biden.” You know the story behind the phrase already, of course. But it just never ceases to amaze me how many people have no idea how dumb that makes them sound.
Mostly it’s the QAnon types that Greene pals around with. You know, the ones who believe that an evil Satanic cabal of Democrats is harvesting the blood of infants. Oh, and that JFK Junior is still alive.
But there are plenty of just plain old angry Republicans that MTG appeals to. That much was evident after she posted the names and telephone numbers of the 13 House Republicans who voted to pass Joe Biden’s infrastructure bill. Her followers — many of them not from her district or even her state — proceeded to make angry telephone calls to all of them, leaving threatening voicemails for some.
Maybe the culprit was someone who was offended at her suggestion that Jewish people had used “space lasers” to start wildfires in California, thereby costing Donald Trump the election.
Whatever the case is, there are plenty of people who think that Marj did it herself, just so she’d have something to be scandalized over. That’s not a new phenomenon. Plenty of Republicans have pretended that Democrats did something terrible to them, only to find out later on that they did it themselves to get attention and blame liberals.
Anyway, it sounds like she’s already got some redecorations in mind:
Last night someone stole my Let’s Go Brandon sign and tore off a few of the lovely letters from nice people too.
They must have been really upset about that little red wave on Tuesday.
I’ll have a new sign up shortly.
Maybe a different one with a message from an “expert.” pic.twitter.com/dtKHIqHoac
