You knew this was coming.

As all recall, Melania Trump’s Christmas decorating tastes ran a tad bit “unique,” one might say “radical,” or just plain creepy and hard on the eyes. The all-red forest thing really did invoke some sort of science fiction horror story. And some of us who already disliked Melania for thousands of more legitimate reasons just piled on. To be fair, there were two years where the criticism was well-earned.

This site may be partly to blame for what came next, after all, we jumped up and down in celebration yesterday upon seeing a “traditional” (and beautiful) Christmas tree and set up in the main White House dining room. We made comparisons to Melania and the tackiness of her decorations, which – again, seemed warranted.

So it was only a matter of time until a conservative writer, forever sympathetic to the plight of poor Melania, found some odd or unusual decorations in this year’s White House and used the scene as the premise for owing Melania an “apology.”

We promise to apologize to Melania with the utmost sincerity (about her Christmas choices) the moment Melania apologizes to anyone about anything. We will sit patiently. Until then, this demand will have to wait:

On the right are nothing more than blocks of traditional Christmas presents with a bow on top, how ugly! We admit we’re not exactly sure what is going on in the left-sided picture.
