To be sure, Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar has made her share of rookie mistakes as a new Representative (now in her second term). As part of the four-member “squad” as named by Nancy Pelosi, there have been occasions when she has done more harm than good. The same can be said for any number of new Representatives. But most are less visible than the only Muslim woman in Congress.
Additionally, whatever missteps Omar may have made, they are not even in the same dimension as those committed by Q-anon Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene, whom the voters of northwest Georgia saw fit to elect as their Congresswoman. Having already been yanked from all committee assignments, Marjorie is under the impression that she’s been assigned the role of being the most hurtful and bigoted person in Congress, while also being the most batsh*t insane.
On Saturday, Marj took aim at Ilhan Omar. According to Newsweek:
Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Saturday accused Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar of marriage fraud and supporting terrorism.
Greene’s accusations followed Omar’s Friday tweet accusing Greene of hypocrisy for wearing a mask on a flight despite publicly opposing mask mandates. Omar’s tweet was in response to another person’s tweet accusing Greene of using taxpayer funds to fly first class on Delta airlines.
Omar’s office has responded to inquiries about the accusation with the following statement: “Whether by colluding with right-wing outlets to go after Muslim elected officials or hounding family members, legitimate media outlets have a responsibility not to fan the flames of hate. Continuing to do so is not only demeaning to Ilhan, but to her entire family.”
And the tweet:
“Damn autocorrect, every time I try to type your name it keeps correcting to Brotherf***er,” Greene wrote in a Saturday afternoon tweet that tagged Omar. “@IlhanMN marriage fraud is a felony. Free upgrades are nice on airlines, but marrying your bother to give him an upgrade is a felony I look forward to make sure is investigated.”
There is just nothing more to say. It is Marj being Marj. This is what we’ve come to expect and if the voters of northeast Georgia expect this from their Congresswoman, we’re sure they’re quite happy.
As you’d imagine, people are disgusted:
You’re such a f*cking embarrassment. Zero class. If you had any other job in the world you’d be fired immediately for talking about a coworker like this. Why do we allow you to get away with your immature games?

This is ok with you, @GOPLeader? This is beyond belief that this comes from a member of Congress, let alone a self-proclaimed Christian.@SpeakerPelosi this deserves disciplinary action.

When did it become okay for our public servants to speak like this?

This ⬆️ is the best MTG can come up with?
No committee appts, no work for her constituents, just hanging around on Twitter rehashing an old story that has been rehashed a zillion times. It’s not even creative. It’s just old news.
And it’s the very best she can do.
