Democrats intend to subpoena telecommunications records from suspects in the January 6th riot at the Capitol. Whether one likes or supports the Patriot Act, it is a law. We find it both grating and humorous that Marjorie says that the U.S. isn’t supposed to be a “communist” country (An economic theory, not necessarily an authoritarian government). She then goes on to say that if these companies comply with the law (one passed by the GOP), then the Republicans will come and shut these companies down, citing no law, just as a good dictatorship would.

The statement perfectly encapsulates the gigantic pile of steaming shtew that the House Select Committee handed over to the Republicans. They are clearly terrified that their phone records will show that there was far more coordination on January 6th than we might otherwise know.

What an interesting list. It is almost like they took a list of Congress critters closest to Trump and asked to see their records. Meanwhile, Kevin McCarthy is screaming the loudest, threatening to shut the telecommunication companies down (which he cannot do, even if they win in 2022). We know McCarthy made calls to Trump on January 6th and yet he’s not on the list. Is McCarthy doing someone else’s bidding? Perhaps someone who isn’t even in Congress?

It sure looks like it. And this is only the beginning:
