“We’re playing for real here.” says President Biden. Yes we are, Mr. President and from what we’ve read, it hits the anti-vaxers once they hit the ICU. It is for this reason alone, we’re sure, that Biden is acting like a president that doesn’t care about the next election. He is taking a hard stand that might even make some supporters uncomfortable, attempting to mandate vaccinations to the maximum extent possible. We have the transcripts from Mediaite:

“I am so disappointed that particularly some Republican governors have been so cavalier with the health of these kids, so cavalier with the health of their communities. We’re playing for real here. This isn’t a game. And I don’t know of any scientist out there in this field that doesn’t think it makes considerable sense to do the six things I’ve suggested.

“Cavalier” is exactly the right word to use, it captures the essence of the MAGA pol approach, at least prior to the panic that overcomes the victims themselves. And you know that we cannot discuss “cavalier” MAGA governors without having to address Kristi Noem in South Dakota, the state that first showed how quickly COVID Propper could spread within a company. (Even prior to the much more contagious Delta strain). Noem always fights for the right to die all naturally:

So far, at least 14 Republican governors have declared their intention to challenge the new mandates. “South Dakota will stand up to defend freedom,” said that state’s Governor Kristi Noem (R) on Twitter Thursday, “@JoeBiden see you in court.”

Biden cited poll data which finds that public opinion is on his side. “Look at the polling data,” Biden said. “The vast majority of the American people know we have to do these things. They’re hard, but necessary.”

Hard? It may be hard to organize from the federal government’s perspective, but with respect to individuals this is fairly easy, and yet it is too much to ask. Pretty unbelievable. No one is cavalier at the funerals.

Should Kamala Harris Run for President in 2028?
