Many people don’t know how responsive “good” representatives and senators can be. We use quotation marks because in this case, for this sole purpose, we are including Republican members that perform the same function. In this instance, when we say “good” we mean how helpful they can be in moving personal difficulties through the federal government, whether that might be visas for family members, grants, and services the federal government provides that have been stalled in red tape. A phone call to a representative or a senator’s office can move things, almost immediately, depending on the situation.

It is easier for representatives to be so responsive because they represent fewer people. Representatives generally average about 700,000 in their district. It is not that hard to respond to questions and comments, and Senators have larger staffs who should be responsive.

But never mind responsiveness, how about just reaching out first? How about not waiting for the calls to come in, how about asking who might need help? This is why AOC is just getting started, just like a minor-league baseball player that has all the raw skills that simply need refinement that comes only with experience, this woman will be heard from in the future from a much higher office:

Say what we want? She will likely moderate her views somewhat out of practical concerns, figuring out why some things can get done and why some demands hurt the overall goal. But her heart will remain just as strong, and her intellect just as sharp.

That’s what we have to say. We see a future senator, governor, chairman of ways and means committee, speaker, even presidential material (if she can beat out Malia Obama, ha ha).

Fantastic job, Congresswoman, keep it up. We say we see greatness on the rise.
