President Obama used to organize pick-up basketball games for exercise on the White House tennis courts. Nearly everyone knows it. Obama would pick some staffers that weren’t bad, maybe a few agents from his detail that could play, maybe some kids from the colleges to help speed up the game a bit Obama would also make a point of inviting people he knew in government who might enjoy a “run.” (Basketball term.)

Former FBI Director Jim Comey is six feet, ten inches tall. That is taller than tall. You cannot grow up to be 6’10 in America and not play basketball. At one point, Obama asked Comey if he wanted to come down for a run. Comey wanted to, desperately wanted to, (who doesn’t want to play basketball at the White House?), but he said “No.”

The reason? It wouldn’t look right. There is a black line between DOJ=FBI and the White House. The lines are not crossed. The DOJ may have to prosecute someone in that building someday.

Of course, under Trump, Trump thought that DOJ was his own law firm. In fact, DOJ somehow ended up defending him in a civil suit. Trump told his White House Counsel Don McGhan to fire Robert Mueller, McGhan refused. Trump did fire Jim Comey and admitted that he fired Comey for investigating Russia, an admission that one would have thought would have led to impeachment at any point prior to Trump.

Peter Doocy doesn’t understand this fundamental divide. Doocy, as you all know, grew up in the Trump administration and – since no one on the right considers Obama a real president, has only had those four years to “watch Washington” and doesn’t get how it works.

That’s what made today just so awful for Peter and so easy for Jen Psaki. Peter wanted to know whether the White House was going to ask DOJ to look into whether any civil rights violations could be charged by today’s Cuomo revelations. He wanted sound for Fox, yes or no, are you putting the hammer down on a Democrat!

Psaki’s answer is PRICELESS:

That. Is. Perfection. And even though Psaki schools Doocy on a regular basis, that particular question had have his ass puckering because it didn’t just show that the Biden administration is playing by the traditional rules, but that Doocy’s “experience” with the Trump administration is all worthless now and she should be ashamed for even asking a question like that.
