Back about a month ago, we were all so awash in real news coming from the new books released over the summer, I Alone Can Fix It, and Frankly, We Did Win This Election, that little stupid details that are just so “Trumpian” in their pettiness got right by us. Given that the major news made on Monday has been covered extensively, here and elsewhere, it is time to kick back and maybe revisit some of those smaller details that we may have missed in those books and savor some of the ironies.

One sort of expects Donald Trump to make fun of the tritest, most inconsequential, and hypocritical aspects of anyone else’s personality or life, and apparently Trump didn’t disappoint in this one, either. From Meeaw:

Former President Donald Trump mocked President Joe Biden for having an “awful facelift”, claims a new book. The author writes Trump also made fun of Biden’s stutter while watching a debate between the 2020 Democratic candidates. Michael Bender, Wall Street Journal journalist recalled in his book ‘Frankly, We Did Win This Election: The Inside Story of How Trump Lost’ how Trump had invited reporters to watch the February 19, 2020 debate with him aboard Air Force One, as they flew back from a Trump rally that night in Phoenix.

The guy whose orange makeup stains his white shirt criticizes someone else for having a bad facelift. (Joe’s facelift actually looks pretty good if you ask any of the women around this staff). And the man who makes up words like Covfefe (?) in a tweet, never mind the stuff that comes out of his mouth during a speech (taking the airports during the Revolutionary war) has a good time making fun of how someone talks, someone born with a stutter?

This all happened during the campaign while flying back from Phoenix, huh? Wow, that’s almost poetic. It was in early September of 2020 that the Trump campaign ran out of money and had to pull ads from the Phoenix market. And it was in November where the Trump campaign suffered one of its narrowest defeats in the 2020 election, due almost exclusively to Maricopa County.

Little did Trump know that karma was working its magic that day.
