Forget Trump momentarily. Let’s just ask ourselves how many more people would be alive today, not dead from COVID, were it not for Fox News? We can go all the way back to the days when “Maybe it will be zero,” right up through today with Brian Kilmeade’s constant whining whenever Steve Doocy talks vaccinations. How many have unnecessarily died?

In an interview with the Daily Beast’s Molly Jong-Fast, talk show host and former CNN star Soledad O’Brien took the entire crew to task, but really went after Ainsley Earhardt, whom O’Brien – somewhat meanly, but absolutely accurately – dismissed as “That stupid blonde.” It really isn’t worth getting to know the name of the leggy blondes between the two men because Fox had rotated the blondes through pretty quickly. Earhardt looks like she might be there to stay for a while. Being Sean Hannity’s babe has its privileges at Fox.

But Soledad O’Brien had no problem calling Earhardt and then the rest of them out for their irresponsible (to put it mildly) COVID coverage:

“Everybody at Fox is vaccinated, but they’re going to continue—especially that stupid blonde one, what’s her name? Ainsley. She’s just going to continue to talk like ‘I don’t even know about vaccines. Who knows?’ What a complete, non-intelligent human being that chick is, but you know, just constantly it comes out of her mouth is just so unimaginably, uninformed and ill-informed, but it works, right? It works to get an audience, and there’s an agenda there.”

Yes, there is an agenda. They know that much of their audience is getting their advice from friends at church, or on Facebook and they don’t want to “offend” that viewer by countering that advice too strongly. So, yes – it’s sort of still up for debate on Fox. “Who knows” about the vaccine? The hosts know. They’re all vaccinated and so is Hannity.

There is also that little part about it making it that much harder for Biden to bring the country back, but that would be awfully cynical, wouldn’t it? Accusing Fox of muddying up vaccination numbers in order to make life difficult for Biden and the Democrats… They’d never do that.

Go get them, Soledad.
