We here at Political Flare are not fans of Ron DeSantis. And it’s not just because he’s a Republican. It’s because he’s a DANGEROUS Republican. He’s just like Donald Trump, but in a more polite, less orange package.

And after spending some time perusing Twitter we found another similarity between DeSantis and Trump…a love for high heeled shoes or “lifts”.

Trump has been spotted wearing shoe lifts and high heeled shoes many times. Trump believes men must be tall to be powerful. Just look at how he mocked men who are short. Lil’ Marco Rubio. “Mini” Mike Bloomberg. “Liddle’ Bob Corker,” “Liddle’ Adam Schiff.” And Adam Schiff is 5’11” by the way…not so “liddle” in my book.

So in Trump world, being tall is important.

About a week ago, DeSantis tweeted a rather sweet photo of him and his daughter getting some ice cream. Cute kid, always nice to see father’s being good dads. But something else was noticed in the photo. DeSantis was wearing boots with a rather high heel.

Now, it was pointed out they are probably cowboy boots. But people on Twitter pointed out they weren’t “real” cowboy boots, because you’d be able to see the top of the boot under the pants:

I’m a woman and from Southern California so cowboy boots aren’t my thing. But most people on Twitter weren’t buying it, and accused DeSantis of wearing these shoes to make himself look taller.

This could also be a short man thing in Florida, because Marco Rubio has also been spotted wearing similar boots. Although these boots look more like something Prince would wear, not a cowboy:
