The Delta variant is not last year’s COVID. Just in case no one is noticing, we are forced to report more and more upon young people dying of COVID.

There are two reasons.

First, and most obviously, our best generation, the boomers among us (at least the liberal portion) got themselves vaccinated first. One cannot afford to get political with vaccines when one is approaching 80 and an epidemic is roaring through the country.

Second, and also quite obviously, the Delta variant is less picky about the age of its victims.

We have had to report on MAGA radio host Phil Valentine, of Super Talk 99.7 in WTN of Nashville before, and the fact that he had been one of the hardcore MAGA vaccine skeptics.

We reported on his regrets when he got sick and when he continued to get sicker. We hoped that he would pull through. He did not, he died young, at the age of 61 – far too young, he should have had 30 more years driving people insane with anger-crazed MAGA theories.

We are not happy that he died, but we’re not going to spend much time grieving, either. We are angry for the real victims, perhaps his kids (perhaps they’re vaccinated?) or his grandkids who never had a choice. They are the real victims.

Our only real hope at this point is that every single one of those MAGAs that nodded their heads when Phil would talk about the vaccine as if it was so dangerous, will now go out and get the vaccine.

We aren’t “happy” that you passed, Phil. But we certainly wish you could’ve figured it out before you died. You had a voice, you only needed it to be a voice of reason.
