Kevin McCarthy is proud to be a moron and intends to make money off it.

The genesis of the story arises out of his fight with Nancy Pelosi over the fact that she reinstated a new mask mandate policy for the House. The delta variant is surging across the country, there are no ICU beds available, there are not enough personnel,  Yet again we continue to see the GOP pride in being the idiots among us, while also the most dangerous.

Many of those in Congress who are vaccinated likely don’t know that if they were vaccinated by Pfizer’s vaccine, they don’t have as much protection against breakthrough cases (though they are highly unlikely to be hospitalized). Many in Congress who haven’t been vaccinated have no idea what they’re up against with respect to the delta variant. It is almost a different disease in strength and threat to age groups.

And yet it again, the Republicans wanna fight, for their right, to participate in the delta experience. Pelosi rightly called McCarthy a “moron” for objecting to the policy and now McCarthy is literally wearing the label with pride. From Uproxx:

One way to respond to an insult is to own it — to proudly embrace the nasty thing you’ve been called. Of course, that doesn’t always work. Case in point: The other day, Kevin McCarthy, the House Minority Leader, was dismissively called a “moron” by his sometime foe Nancy Pelosi after he opposed a congressional mask mandate amidst rising Delta variant cases. Now we have his comeback: He made T-shirts in which he tries to reframe a word Webster’s defines as “a stupid or foolish person.”

And they mention that Pelosi used the term against “freedom loving people” [who wanna fight, for their right, to get sick.] Small Gen X reference there.

So that happened and if you’d like to check out what it looks like to wear the moron monicker with pride (like a good MAGA), we’re here to serve:
