Franklin Graham is trending throughout the United States. Why would he possibly be trending? For all the right reasons. In summary:

Franklin Graham doesn’t see liberals as Christians.

And this is fascinating, and so “Christian.”

On Maddow, OMG Samaritan’s Purse field hospital opening in Mississippi. That’s Franklin Graham. Workers have to sign a pledge against LGBTQ patients try to convert them before they will treat. We shut them down in New York City.

And:

Should Kamala Harris Run for President in 2028?

Sounds exactly like something Jesus would do. Pfffft.

This is interesting and informative. Someone who prays regularly might want to tell Jesus that he cannot be a Christian because this would probably really upset him. Jesus was the single most radical progressive of his time. At every point, he fought wealthy authority on behalf of the poor and outcast.

First, and most obvious, Jesus didn’t say a think about LGBTQ issues, even though they existed.

Taxes? Jesus didn’t need “taxes” (Render unto Ceasar, yes but…) he said give up all your money, give it to the poor and live a better life. “Immigrants”? Well, we have the tale of the good Samaritan and something about being good to one’s “enemy,” though it’s not about enemies, as any real Christian could tell you, it’s about treating “others” with love. If a refugee showed up at your place, and you could offer safety, would the good Samaritan do it? Seems like it.

Prodigal son? Prison reform, criminal justice, when one does the wrong thing, then changes his ways and turns around to do the right thing, we offer him or her back into society. The adultress? Women’s rights? The Franklin Grahams often think, “The little tramp deserved it,” should be home barefoot and pregnant, everything is the woman’s fault. There was nothing in the law about the man involved, but Jesus included the guy, “Let HE who is without sin cast the first stone.”  Let’s just go with the Beatitudes and see if we can find a single conservative thing in them:

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied…

There are more, but in the true conversion – the “real meaning” – there isn’t a single conservative thing among them. How about something simple, given that Graham just said one of the most hateful things, how about “Above all else, love one another?” Doesn’t sound like he loves LGBTQ people and that’s “above all else.”

No, Jesus was the most radical, progressive, true socialist of his time (and said nothing about abortion or LGBTQ issues). And yet Graham did say that a liberal cannot be a Christian (He has implied this many times before), and so the net had some responses:
