One of the ways that social media weakens our democracy is that the news one seeks is the type that verifies what one already believes. We are not above that here, but we do call ourselves out occasionally, too.

As everyone knows, the GOP-MAGA modus operandi is to take their weakest link and wrap the Democrats with the exact same accusations despite being clearly wrong. This morning, Don Jr., son of famously stupid – and we mean so stupid it is stupid, Donald Trump, said that Joe Biden made reading a teleprompter look hard. In a normal news environment, reputable organizations would immediately balance out the accusation and it wouldn’t be difficult. Trump would have difficulty winning “Jeopardy” if he was up against an eggplant and a trout.

This came from the guy whose father bragged about how the Revolutionary War Generals’ good sense to secure BWI and Dulles, helped ground key supply routes for equipment, food, and reinforcements, coming in from London.

In a fair world, all of Don Jr.’s followers would be forced to read the replies. But given that’s not as much fun as owning the libs, we doubt many got read:

Should Kamala Harris Run for President in 2028?

True. If Biden reads something off a teleprompter, he doesn’t need to be told that Hitler did not do “some good things.”

If Junior got over the loss, that would mean that the onus is on senior to get over the loss and that’s never to happen.

That would seem to balance things out a bit and, if one has time, there are four to five thousand more to review, most saying the same thing. Too bad Trump supporters will only read Junior’s.
