Anyone watching CNN last night went to bed in fear for their country, or – at least, heightened fear, more than that which they already had.
Chris Cuomo addressed the only issue being addressed (seemingly) in the news this last week, the exploding recurrence of COVID, and utter inanity of those who leave themselves exposed to the risks by not vaccinating themselves and thereby increasing the risk to others. They also make life a pain in the ass by bringing mandatory masks back into the fold.
More and more, people are willing to call it what it is, “selfish,” the unvaccinated are holding the vaccinated hostage and we never know when the virus might evolve (a word evangelicals should embrace) and become more virulent, possibly getting around our vaccines.
Cuomo interviewed a California restaurant owner named Tony Roman, who owns an establishment called Basilico’s Pasta e Vino, which sounds fantastic, except most of us wouldn’t be allowed in. You see, Roman believes that the vaccine is wrong and thus vaccinated people are not allowed in his restaurant.
“It’s an IQ test. Like I say to people when they ask me, if they’re so blinded with their rage and their hate, I tell them, you know what, if you don’t understand it, maybe we should put up a sign that says you’re too stupid to come into the restaurant.”
Cuomo asked Roman about whether or not he was vaccinated and Roman wouldn’t divulge his vaccination status. Roman then asked Cuomo about whether he’s been vaccinated and Cuomo said that, yes, he and his entire family were vaccinated, to which Roman replied:
“You’re failing the IQ test.”
And on that bizarre note, Cuomo ended the interview with far more civility and decorum that most would believe possible, by noting:
“Honestly, you sound like an idiot.”
