We got nothin.’

Having specialized in Trumpology for over three years, we’ve mastered the culture and language enough to match Trump, which is to say we’re “semi-functional.” Any time a MAGA, including Trump, attempts to communicate a message, more often than not, we come at least as close to understanding as the person giving the message.

But on this, we got nothin.’ We said that already, but it bears repeating.

Despite having to cover Trump, this is a wonderful job that many envy. Thus, when the boss is in a particularly vindictive mood and wants coverage of Trump’s Newsmax interview prior to the rally, one is damned well covering the interview. But it is as painful as being forced to watch The Apprentice. The reporter didn’t so much ask questions as offer up prayers. She wanted to be deemed worthy in his eyes. Anyone else finding themselves in such an interview would light themselves on fire rather than finish the “offerings.” Trump was told that it was critical for him to do rallies because “everyone loves you” and that it’s “especially true now because people have seen the country fall apart so fast.” It got much worse but the medicinal tequila shots worked to fog over some of it. We do know that viewers were not told that Biden’s approval ratings remain roughly eight points higher than Trump’s peak.

And yet, Trump wasn’t in the mood to just be worshipped. Whenever Trump is defeated, he becomes a vengeful God and he fixated on revenge. Trump wanted to inflict pain and he knows that nothing makes his followers angrier at Democrats than cancel culture. Cancel culture should be reserved for Liz Cheney. Trump said that “they” [Democrats] tried to cancel the Fourth of July, but he wouldn’t let them.

Newsmax had an EXCLUSIVE interview with Trump, in which he said he would not let "them" cancel the Fourth of July, which "they" wanted very much to do.

So, no, he has not changing. At all.

We had no idea that there was a movement to replace the Gregorian calendar but Trump vetoed it! Perhaps he is saying that Democrats just wanted to go from July 3rd to July 5th, and maybe enjoy a December 32nd, which doesn’t sound like a bad idea if we could just do it with April 1st.

As we said, we got nothin.’ But we’re sure the Newsmax audience got something out of it. We are near certain that they believe in their hearts that somehow, Trump prevented the Democrats from canceling the Fourth of July. Trump would never ever cancel Fourth of July, which is why he flew up there to give his big Fourth of July speech… on July 3rd.

Trump also repeated this claim during the rally itself.

Trump claimed that if President Joe Biden and “radical Democrats” got their way, Americans could “kiss the American dream goodbye.

“If Biden and the radical Democrats get their way, you can kiss your suburbs, your fourth of July, your barbecue, and you can kiss the American dream goodbye,” Trump said.
