One of the single most difficult things to do is go down to a local county courthouse and watch family court for a day. One will see clear examples of families where both parents are hurting their child by fighting so intensely, to say nothing about the truly awful cases, where Child Protective Services is trying to take charge of a dangerous situation. It is a gut punch and we should all thank people in Child Protective Services, as most are very good citizens doing one of the hardest jobs. Sometimes it’s amazing they can sleep at night.

Juxtapose that with how one feels when one sees a healthy, loved, well-cared-for. child in the care of any parent(s) or guardian, be it a single parent, traditional couple, grandparents, or – of course, our LGBTQ family. A family is a family and it’s about love and commitment, not the social arrangement.

All of which marches completely past Marjorie Taylor-Greene, who loves to talk about freedom and how much she despises “communism,” and yet apparently believes that the government has the right to rip a healthy and loved baby out of a couple’s hands because Marj doesn’t approve of the parents’ lifestyle.

Ahanu and Petrona, a trans couple in Washington DC, recently featured on the Emmy-nominated Facebook Watch show Nine Months with Courtney Cox. The heartwarming and inspiring documentary series followed 13 prospective parents on their pregnancy journeys.

One segment showed Ahanu and Petrona with their child, as Petrona attempts to breastfeed the child. It was shared by a Twitter user who was disgusted at the notion of two trans parents, and in particular, a trans person attempting to breastfeed.

Greene shared their disgust, re-tweeting the video and saying: “This is CHILD ABUSE!!!!! This baby is in danger! Remove this child immediately. Caring for and raising children should have nothing, absolutely NOTHING, to do with fulfilling this man’s unnatural fantasies. Men can NOT give birth or breast feed. They are mentally unstable.”

WTF? What the hell is she talking about, “fantasies.” These are two normal people trying to live life with their wonderful baby wanting the MGT’s of the world to just GTFO.

And let’s ask, who is Marj asking to “remove” this child? The Gestapo? Brown-Shirts? The quasi-government empowered pastors? That sounds like a ton of government authority.

Let’s do an experiment, purely for demonstration purposes. Again, this is completely hypothetical. What if someone proved that MGT, as a former gym owner, was using steroids, and indeed still uses steroids, which caused her to work out maniacally while also aggressively, and angrily, lashing out at high school kids and other people she sees as beneath her. She was pumping herself with male hormones in order to live out an “unnatural fantasy” of being some musclebound bodybuilder. Again, purely for demonstrative purposes.

Should we take Marj’s child?

No, we should not and cannot take either child so long as the child is cared for and not endangered. Perhaps the comparison would be illustrative for MGT? Probably not. Of the parties involved, the trans couple and the Congresswoman, we do know whose ideas are more dangerous. The one that hates.
