The United States has – at least since the New Deal in the 1930s (and likely prior), utilized an economic system that mixed capitalism with some aspects of socialism. A great example of “socialism” occurred just in the last year, when big business in the United States got hundreds of billions in federal money, needed or not (In many cases), straight from the U.S. Treasury in order to keep the companies afloat. In a purely capitalist society, the airlines and other businesses would have went under, and had to declare bankruptcy. But, again, socialism helped out for the good of the country and as a windfall for some companies.

The hundreds of millions to airlines, hotels, and other businesses are the economic equivalent of food stamps. One simply lets people feed kids, the other ensures that no seven-figure bonuses are missed.

Today, Elise Stefanik had some fearmongering to do and tweeted out that socialism better not creep into our purely socialist programs like Medicare and Medicaid:

Today’s Anniversary of Medicare & Medicaid reminds us to reflect on the critical role these programs have played to protect the healthcare of millions of families. To safeguard our future, we must reject Socialist healthcare schemes.

Inexcusable. She had to know that these programs are socialist, correct? She “had” to know!

Well, Twitter didn’t care, they knew and mocked Stefanik under the blue bird’s blue droppings:
