He has never been better. Today was Joe Biden’s finest hour. So far.
President Joe Biden is a man who has served in government, through tragedy and victory, since he was thirty years old. He has made mistakes, many, many mistakes, but he’s had more victories than mistakes. We should all hope to do so well.
But he was never better than he was today. Never.
President Biden recognizes – probably more than anyone in the country – that the entire “experiment in self-government” is on the line with the Republicans’ response to his victory. Republicans see the future and it’s brown, it’s no color, it’s pluralistic, it’s heterogenous, it is vibrant, verdant, it is accepting and loving, it is about evolving, ever-evolving. If one represents old white male power and money, such a future is the end of your “era.”
Thus the GOP is building a wall around its power, the 2021 version of Troy, trying to keep their positions of power inaccessible to voters. Voters, say it with disgust, sound like a Republican.
Biden sees it all coming and has for years. A man of 75 years is standing up, angry, drawing his line in the sand, meeting the moment, for the child that is in kindergarten right now, and that child’s future children. He was never better.
Get out a Kleenex, take a deep breath, and thank your higher power, whoever it may be, that through four long years, we fought to get a president who sounds like an American president rallying the American people, the good people.
"We, the people will never give up. We will not give in. We will overcome, we will do it together. Guaranteeing the right to vote has always been the most patriotic thing we can do". President Joe Biden. pic.twitter.com/nHuMq90BM3

The speech had already had its beautiful moments, the closing is just breathless. These moments will be in reports for days. We wanted the final note out as soon as possible.
Normally, we include reactions to speeches on Twitter. Today, we know the reaction, we feel the reaction. Now, all we have to do is get up and work on that reaction.
His finest hour came during one of our most desperate moments and he wants us to line up behind him, like a leader.
